No fewer than seven students of the Ebonyi State College of Health Science and Technology, Ngbo, were injured after suspected armed robbers attacked their hostel in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state.

‎The incident reportedly occurred around 1 a.m. on Tuesday when the assailants stormed the hostel and dispossessed students of their valuables.

‎Sources said the hostels lack perimeter fencing and security posts, making the facility vulnerable to criminal attacks.

‎Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ebonyi State Police Command, Joshua Ukandu, said officers were immediately deployed after receiving a distress call.

‎However, by the time security operatives arrived, the suspects had escaped into a nearby bush. Ukandu stated that the police have launched a manhunt and are working to apprehend the attackers and recover the stolen property.

‎The injured students are currently receiving treatment at a hospital, although the location was not disclosed.

‎As of the time of filing this report, the management of the Ebonyi State College of Health Science and Technology had yet to issue an official statement on the attack.
