Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has restated his administration’s commitment to the “Rivers First” philosophy, describing it as the central focus guiding government policies and projects over the past three years.
In a statement released on Friday in Port Harcourt by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, the governor marked the third anniversary of his administration with a message highlighting achievements and renewed pledges to the people of the state.
Fubara said his government has consistently placed the welfare and interests of Rivers residents at the centre of governance throughout the 36-month period.
He noted that major investments in road infrastructure were aimed at improving connectivity between rural communities and urban centres, while also expanding economic opportunities across the state.
According to him, key projects such as the Port Harcourt Ring Road, Trans-Kalabari Highway, Elele–Umudioga–Egbeda–Ubimini–Ikiri–Omoku Road, and the Ngo–Atlantic–Oyorokoto Road reflect his administration’s drive to position Rivers State as a leading investment hub.
The governor also said his administration had recorded progress in the education and health sectors, while sustaining efforts to maintain peace and strengthen security.
He expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their continued support and trust, assuring them that public resources would remain dedicated to public benefit.
Fubara attributed the administration’s achievements to the cooperation and resilience of residents across the state.
He said: “What we have achieved in three years is evidence that when government and citizens work together, progress becomes achievable.”
“As we mark this anniversary, I renew my commitment to lead with transparency, listen more, and ensure that every project and policy reflects the interest of the people,” he added.
While acknowledging that more work lies ahead, the governor urged residents—across all sectors including youths, elders, traders, farmers, artisans, and professionals—to continue supporting the development of the state.
Fubara also congratulated Nigerians on 27 years of uninterrupted democratic governance, describing it as a significant milestone in the country’s political history.
He said the stability of democracy reflects Nigeria’s ability to manage diversity and coexist peacefully despite differences.
Fubara assumed office in May 2023 amid political tensions in Rivers State. Since then, his administration has focused on infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and economic growth while navigating ongoing political disputes.
