A group of concerned youths and aspirants of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Kingsley Temitikpe Ogah as the substantive National Chairman of the party.
“We believe that due process must be upheld at all times, and any leadership that emerges through legitimate and transparent means deserves official acknowledgment,” said Comrade Abubakar Suleiman, Coordinator, Concerned Youths and Aspirants of the ADC.
The group made the call in a statement, urging INEC to review all relevant documents, party resolutions, and legal standings that support Ogah’s position as chairman. “We urge INEC to carefully review all relevant documents, party resolutions, and legal standings that support this position, in order to avoid actions that may further deepen internal disputes within the party,” the statement read.
The youths and aspirants emphasized the need for stability in leadership as the party prepares for upcoming political engagements. “Stability in leadership is crucial as we prepare for upcoming political engagements and continue to position the ADC as a credible alternative in Nigeria’s democratic space,” they said.
The statement also appealed to party members, supporters, and Nigerians to remain calm and focused on constructive dialogue as efforts are made to resolve any lingering issues. “We call on all party members, supporters, and well-meaning Nigerians to remain calm, law-abiding, and focused on constructive dialogue as efforts are made to resolve any lingering issues,” it added.
