The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says that candidates currently seeing “No Result Yet” when checking their Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results are underage applicants whose results have not yet been released.
This is contained in a statement issued by the JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, on Tuesday in Abuja.
According to Mr Benjamin, the message does not indicate a technical error, but reflects the status of candidates who do not yet meet the eligibility requirements for admission.
He said only candidates who would be at least 16 years old by Sept. 30, 2026, were eligible to register for and sit the UTME, except in special cases.
Mr Benjamin said underage candidates may only be considered under an exceptional category if they demonstrate outstanding academic ability.
This, he said, included scoring 320 and above in the UTME and attaining at least 80 per cent in subsequent screening exercises.
According to him, only underage candidates who meet the 320 UTME benchmark will be shortlisted and invited for further screening.
Mr Benjamin added that the arrangement was reached and endorsed by the parents of the affected candidates.
“For now, results for underage candidates remain unreleased,” he said.
