The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that residents of Lokoja and nearby communities in Kogi State will experience a planned six-hour power interruption on Tuesday to allow for urgent maintenance at its transmission facility.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the company’s General Manager of Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, TCN said the outage will last from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as engineers carry out maintenance work on the 150MVA TR1 330/132/33kV power transformer at the Lokoja Transmission Substation.
The company explained that the scheduled maintenance is necessary to ensure the continued reliability of electricity supply in the area.
As a result of the exercise, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) will be unable to receive electricity from TCN for distribution to customers in Lokoja Town, CBN, Koton Karfe, Kabba Junction and Faith Academy during the period.
TCN apologised to customers who will be affected by the temporary disruption and appealed for their understanding, assuring them that electricity supply would be restored immediately after the maintenance work is completed.
