The Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX Group) Plc has approved an interim dividend of N1.30 per ordinary share for the six months ended June 30, 2026, following a robust financial performance in the first half of the year.

‎In a statement issued on Sunday, the company said the dividend reflects its solid earnings growth, stronger cash generation and the board’s confidence in the group’s long-term growth prospects. It added that the payout would not affect its ability to continue investing in technology, market expansion and other strategic initiatives across Nigeria’s capital market.

‎NGX Group posted a 118 per cent increase in revenue, rising to N17.60 billion from N8.08 billion recorded during the same period in 2025. Total income also climbed by 96 per cent to N19.34 billion.

‎According to the group, the impressive results were driven by increased activity in the capital market. Transaction fee income surged by 169 per cent to N13.34 billion, up from N4.96 billion, while listing fees rose by 59 per cent to N2.38 billion. Revenue from technology services also increased by 19 per cent to N447.86 million.

‎Operating profit grew significantly by 155 per cent to N10.62 billion, compared to N4.16 billion in the corresponding period last year, as revenue growth outpaced the rise in operating expenses.

‎The company also recorded a 130 per cent increase in its share of profit from equity-accounted investees, reaching N4.14 billion, largely due to the strong performance of the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc.

‎As a result, profit before tax jumped by 170 per cent to N14.76 billion, while profit after tax rose by 146 per cent to N10.36 billion, up from N4.22 billion in the first half of 2025.

‎NGX Group further reported that its total assets stood at N75.87 billion as of June 30, 2026. Shareholders’ equity also increased to N60.49 billion, compared with N55.20 billion at the close of 2025.

‎Chairman of the group, Umaru Kwairanga, said the interim dividend demonstrates the board’s confidence in the company’s financial strength and future outlook.

‎He noted that the group remained committed to rewarding shareholders while continuing to invest in infrastructure, technology and strategic projects aimed at deepening Nigeria’s capital market and supporting sustainable growth.

‎Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Temi Popoola, described the half-year performance as evidence of the resilience and scalability of the group’s business model.

‎He attributed the results to higher trading activity, increased listing income and stronger contributions from investee companies, adding that disciplined execution translated the revenue growth into significantly improved profitability.

‎Popoola said the company would continue to focus on boosting market liquidity, attracting more investors, expanding technology-driven products and strengthening its financial market infrastructure, noting that the interim dividend reflects confidence in the group’s ability to deliver long-term value.

‎NGX Group said shareholders whose names appear in its register of members on the qualification date will be eligible to receive the N1.30 per share interim dividend. It added that the qualification date, register closure period and payment date would be announced in line with its approved corporate action timetable and regulatory requirements.
