Several Nigerians have taken to social media to express outrage over the latest petrol price increase, with the cost reaching N1,500 per litre at some filling stations.
This development followed an upward review of the ex-gantry price of petrol by the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which raised the price from N1,265 to N1,350 per litre.
The adjustment has pushed pump prices closer to the N1,500-per-litre mark in parts of the country.
Several Nigerians reacted to the development on social media, with some calling for protests against the rising cost of petrol.

A serious govt seeking re-election would reduce the price of fuel to win some last-minute sympathy votes, but today Renewed Hope has quietly increased the Price of Petrol by at least N100+, and nobody is talking. Petrol prices have risen sharply since President Bola Tinubu announced the removal of the fuel subsidy during his inauguration on May 29, 2023.
