The U.S. Consulate General will on August 5 host the graduation ceremony for a group of Nigerian entrepreneurs who have successfully completed a manufacturing incubation programme designed to strengthen their business and creative capabilities.
The initiative, which receives support from the United States government as part of activities marking the 250th anniversary of American independence, was developed by Roberta Edu, a Mandela Washington Fellowship alumna, and funded through the U.S. Department of State’s Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF).
Acting U.S. Consul General Julie McKay is expected to deliver remarks at the event, emphasising the U.S. commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and building partnerships that contribute to economic development.
The programme was created to equip young Nigerian entrepreneurs with practical skills, enhance their manufacturing capacity, and foster stronger economic connections between Nigeria and the United States.
The graduation ceremony will take place at the Women Development Centre, Ogba, Lagos, and will include an awards presentation, product displays, entrepreneurs’ success stories, and other activities showcasing the achievements of participants.
