Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has donated 39 vehicles to the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Islamic sects and Christian denominations to promote peaceful coexistence and support their activities in the state.

‎‎The vehicles are also expected to facilitate religious groups’ advocacy for peaceful and credible elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎‎The Director-General of Interfaith in Kaduna State, Tahir Umar Tahir, who represented the governor during the presentation, said some politicians anticipating defeat were planning to disrupt public peace before, during and after the elections.

‎‎Tahir recalled that the First Aid Group of Fityanul Islam had earlier requested six buses to support its peacebuilding activities during its national seminar and award ceremony in August.

‎‎He said Sani initially promised four buses for the group, with two each allocated to its national body and Kaduna State chapter.

‎‎According to him, the governor subsequently extended the gesture to other Islamic sects, the Boys Brigade, JNI and CAN, directing that Hummer buses be provided to the state chapters of the two religious organisations.

‎‎He added that other Christian denominations and Islamic sects that did not benefit from the current distribution would be considered in subsequent donations.

‎‎Tahir said the governor had maintained relationships with religious leaders across the two dominant faiths since assuming office, including involving them in the distribution of government benefits such as free fertiliser and political appointments.

‎‎He urged religious leaders to pray for the governor, particularly for his re-election, saying his administration would surpass its achievements if given a second term.

‎Representatives of the Kaduna State chapters of JNI and CAN thanked the governor for the vehicles and pledged their continued prayers for peace and development in the state.
