The Super Falcons have received widespread admiration from football fans after unveiling their official 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) photos in coordinated traditional Nigerian outfits.

‎The 10-time African champions shared the images on their official Instagram page, where the players were dressed in matching green-and-white attire inspired by Nigeria’s national colours and indigenous fashion.

‎Beyond serving as the team’s official media portraits for the tournament, the photoshoot highlighted Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and presented the country’s traditional fashion to a global audience.

‎The display also underscored how sports can promote cultural identity, fashion and national pride, with many supporters applauding the team’s decision to celebrate local traditions ahead of the continental competition.

‎The images generated thousands of reactions online, as fans flooded the comment section with words of encouragement.

‎Instagram user @guchiamah described the players’ appearance as fitting for champions, writing: “Drip check WAFCON big aunty vibes because 10 times they’ve proven themselves, the best in the game.”

‎Another supporter, @diah_interiors, expressed confidence in the team, saying: “Let’s go queens… we are solidly rooting for you all.”

‎@udoka_unachukwu also encouraged the players with the message: “Let’s go Queens,” while @p_r_e_s_h_y celebrated the squad by writing: “My women!!!” ‎ ‎Similarly, @abazwhyllzz praised the team’s style and confidence, commenting: “Drip, confidence and ready for the mission,” while @sonofthesoil__ urged Nigerians to throw their support behind the team ahead of the tournament.

‎Defender Michelle Alozie also shared photos from the session on her Instagram page, captioning them: “Naija no dey carry last.”

‎The team’s appearance comes at a time when Nigerian fashion continues to gain international recognition, with indigenous fabrics and traditional designs featuring prominently at global fashion events, sporting competitions and cultural exhibitions.

‎Many observers believe the Super Falcons have once again used football as a platform to project Nigeria’s creativity, diversity and cultural identity beyond the game itself.

‎The players will now look to carry the confidence displayed in the photoshoot into their 2026 WAFCON campaign as they pursue another continental title.
